Quick Acting (F) LBC Glass Cartridge Fuse

This glass cartridge fuse is ideal for providing protection to devices or internal circuits. They are ideal for providing protection to devices or internal circuits from short circuits and overcurrent. They are deliberately weaker components which, when too much current is drawn, will blow. Once the fuse has blown it will need replacing in order to make the circuit complete and allow the flow of current.

Features:

• Glass tube, electroplated brass endcap construction

• 6.3 x 32 mm cartridge size

• F Speed Rating

• RoHS compliant and lead-free

• Interrupting rating equals 10 times rated current

Typical applications:

Miniature fuses are a relatively cheap way of protecting electrical equipment from short circuits and overcurrent and can be used to protect electrical appliances, electronic equipment and component parts

More information:

Why choose a glass fuse?

Glass and ceramic fuses have similar properties. Glass fuse is great for small items that don't draw a heavy amount of current and blow on a regular basis. It is easy to identify whether the fuse has blown as you can see inside it.

What size is it?

6.3 x 32 mm is a standard cartridge size and it measures approximately 32 mm long by 6.3 mm in diameter. They are popular in board and panel protection and will fit a compatible 6.3 x 32 fuse holder.

What Speed is it?

This particular fuse is ''F'' speed rated which means a fast acting fuse. These are designed to protect less sensitive components and are also used to protect cabling from melting or catching fire when an overload appear. Every fast acting fuse will have the exact speed stated which will be relevant to different overloads.

What is Breaking Capacity?

Breaking capacity is the level of current that the fuse can safely handle without exploding or rupturing. The breaking capacity of your fuse should be greater than the fault current of your electronic circuit. This particular fuse is LBC (Low Breaking Capacity).

What are fuses used for?

• For the protection of components and equipment from costly damage caused by over-current

• To isolate sub-systems from the main system once a fault has appeared

What is an overcurrent?

It is a setting where a circuit experiences a current that is higher than the normal operating current.
