The FTDI Chip USB to UART cable provides a fast and simple way to connect devices with a TTL level serial interface to a USB. Each cable contains a small internal electronic circuit board, utilising the FT232R, which is encapsulated into the USB connector at the end of the cable. The circuit is powered from the USB using 5V power pins and any VCC connection is always at 5VDC. However, this cable is available with signal TTL logic level of 3.3V. This cable is supported with Microsoft WHQL certified VCP drivers for Windows, Apple Mac, and Linux.
