The Prowave Transceiver features a centre frequency of 40.0 ± 1.0 kHz and a bandwidth of 2.0 kHz. It has a minimum transmitting sound pressure level of 117 dB at the resonant frequency, measured as 0 dB re 0.0002 μbar with 10 Vrms at 30 cm. Its receiving sensitivity is 65 dB min, corresponding to 0 dB equals to 1 volt/μbar. The nominal impedance is 1000 Ω, with a maximum ringing time of 1.2 ms for PT160 and 1.5 ms for PT16P. The capacitance at 1 kHz is 2400 pF ± 20%, and it can handle a continuous maximum driving voltage of 20 Vrms, boasting a typical total beam angle of 40° at 6 dB.
