A range of distance measuring sensors from Sharp utilising infrared emitters and photo-detectors with integrated signal processing circuitry. The devices are available with either analogue or switched (digital) outputs and include both fixed and variable distance sensors. Mounting styles include two-hole surface fixing and through-hole PCB types. Sensing distances covered are 4 cm to 550 cm. Typical uses include object detection in automation, robotics and automotive applications, contactless switching and safety systems.
Analogue output types produce an output voltage related to distance Digital output types switch at a specified target distance Insensitive to the colour of target objects No additional external control circuits are required
GP2Y0D02YK0F is a distance measuring sensor unit, composed of an integrated combination of PSD (position sensitive detector) , IRED (infrared emitting diode) and signal processing circuit. The variety of the reflectivity of the object, the environmental temperature and the operating duration are not influenced easily to the distance detection because of adopting the triangulation method. The output voltage of this sensor stays high in case an object exists in the specified distance range. So this sensor can also be used as proximity sensor.
