Sling Points

Sling points are attached to heavy items, like skips or containers, so that when the item is lifted using a sling, the load is shared equally over a number of points.

How do sling points work?

Sling points are attached to the side or top of an object with screwsand lay flat against the object when not in use. A leaf spring holds the sling point at 90 degrees from its base when in use, which is useful when several hooks need to be attached to the sling point.

Before buying sling points, consider the maximum weight of the loads you'll be lifting and choose a sling point with a suitable lifting capacity.

Advantages of slings points

Because sling points lay flat against the object when not in use, they are unobtrusive and less likely to be damaged than eyebolts, which are used for similar applications. Eyebolts are metal stems that are screwed into the object being lifted and permanently protrude from the object. They have a metal loop at the end to which slings or ropes can be attached.
