This unique portfolio of Siemens 3SB3 series is a modular range of commanding and signalling devices for front plate mounting and rear conductor connection. The 3SB3 series are round and have a mounting diameter of 22 mm and their actuator is supplied with a holder. Complete units are offered, but only for the most commonly used applications. This amazing range has the following standards: IEC 60947-1, EN 60947-1, IEC 60947-5-1, EN 60947-5-1, IEC 60947-5-5, EN 60947-5-5 for EMERGENCY-STOP mushroom pushbuttons
Connection methods
These units are available with screw terminals (box terminals), spring-type terminals or solder pins.
The 3SB3 series is made of:
molded plastic in flat, wound and square design
metal in round design
They can be mounted by a single person and are climate-proof (KTW 24) to suit industrial applications. Their main purpose of existence is to act as safety emergency-stop pushbuttons and their switching frequency is approximately 1000 operating cycles.
The outer diameter of the actuating element for 3SB35001HA20 is 40 mm with a rotate-to-unlatch mechanism. This exciting unit, according to IEC 60068-2-6 has a vibration resistance of 20 ... 200 Hz: 5g. This is a typical emergency off/stop function device with the operating voltage of AC (alternating current)/DC (direct current) electricity. The Emergency Stop Mushroom Pushbuttons represents worldwide standards, in particular: •IP67 where a device can withstand immersion in one meter of water for 30 minutes The service life for IEC 60068-2-6 is up to 300000 switching cycles. The ambient temperature during operation ranging from -25°C to +70°C, during storage however ranging from -40°C to +80°C.
Frequently asked questions & answers
What is the different between a push button switch for an emergency stop and a general-purpose push button switch?
A general-purpose push button switch is used for controls, e.g. to start machine operation or simply to switch modes. An emergency stop push button switch however, is mainly used as a safety measure to stop hazardous events.
