The Microchip Real time clock/calendar tracks time with internal counters for hours, minutes, seconds, days, months, years, and day of the week, with configurable alarms up to the month level. It supports I2C communication up to 400 kHz for easy configuration. The open drain, multi functional output can assert on an alarm match, generate a selectable frequency square wave, or function as a general purpose output.
