RS PRO Thread Measuring Wire Set
RS PRO brings to you a very handy thread measuring wire set used to determine the pitch dia. of external threads on bolts or plug gauges. Our offer includes 16 sets of the most commonly used thread wires that caters for both metric and imperial measurements. Metric sizes are 60 degrees 0.5mm to 6.0mm and imperial sizes are 0.018 in. to 0.185 in, 60-degree 48tp to 3tpi.
Ways of measuring threads
Using thread measuring wires is just one way to measure threads, an experienced fabricator or engineer will also have ring gauges, thread triangles and micro-meters. During application thread wires can be a little tricky to use at first but they are extremely accurate when used in conjunction with micrometers.
