What is the difference between VGA and SVGA?
VGA (Video Graphics Array) is a connection used with computer monitors and displays. It supports a lower resolution of 640 x 480 and has since become outdated. SVGA (Super Video Graphics Array) is a much higher quality and improved version of VGA, providing an upwards resolution of 1024 x 768 eight bit pixels.
What is DVI?
DVI stands for Digital Video Interface. DVI is a form of digital technology connection used to display high quality images from modern graphics cards and is widely used with computer monitors and LCD screens.
What are the different types of DVI cables?
• DVI-A – carries an analogue signal and can support VGA signals via adapters but will not support HDMI
• DVI-D – carries a direct digital signal without converting to analog
• DVI-I – capable of carrying either a digital or analog signal

• DVI-I – capable of carrying either a digital or analog signal
What is the difference between single and dual link?
With a dual link digital video cable, all of the pins present connect allowing much higher resolutions to be achieved. With a single link cable, only a certain amount of the pins connect reducing the quality.
• Single link connections use only one signal transmitter and can handle max resolution: 1920 x 1200
• Dual link connection uses two transmitters and can handle max resolution 2560 x 1600

• Dual link connection uses two transmitters and can handle max resolution 2560 x 1600
What is the difference between DVI and HDMI?
Although the two are similar in the sense they can display high quality digital images, HDMI cables have become the standard cable for use with modern tv's as they can also carry sound, making them an ideal all in one cable. DVI cables, on the other hand, are more suited to displaying high quality digital images on an LCD screen or computer monitor and can also be connected to an HDMI port via a digital converter, making them highly versatile.
