MOTG Bluetooth Add-On Module

The 4D Systems MOTG (Modules on the Go) product family provides an innovative plug and play solution for adding key functionalities to 4D Systems gen4 LCD Display Modules.

Utilising a modular concept, the MOTG range provides a simple method for swift hardware expansion, allowing rapid design and maintenance of applications requiring a display. WiFi, Bluetooth, RS-232, RS-485 and enhanced audio can easily be added to an LCD display through simply plugging in the appropriate module into an installed MOTG interface board.

This MOTG Bluetooth Add-On Module provides Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy capability, allowing a gen4 LCD Module to interface with Bluetooth devices. The module features the 4D Systems Universal MOTG Interface (UMI) to provide plug and play functionality.

The module functionality is provided by a Microchip RN4870 Bluetooth Module. Featured is an integrated ceramic chip antenna, secure AES128 encryption and remote over the air configuration capability. A host MCU can dynamically control the RN4870 over UART though the use of an available ASCII command interface.
