Megger MFT1731 Multifunction Tester, Backlit Display, Rubber Overmould Material - MFT1701 Series

Get cracking on your low-voltage electrical maintenance jobs with the MFT1731 Megger multifunction tester. The handy unit includes all the functions you need to carry out commercial, industrial, or domestic electrical certifications. Rest assured, you get a safety warning as soon as the tester detects dangerous conditions, so there's no need to worry about being floored by hazardous voltages. The intuitive menu is a cinch to use, so you can work through your tests in a flash. Dual test and lock buttons on either end of the device mean you can operate it without a hitch using your left or right hand.

The MFT1731 tests low voltage electrical installations to BS7671. Providing all the tests required to complete the necessary electrical certification for industrial, commercial and domestic fixed wiring installations. The unique design allows it to be operated while mounted on the floor, a ladder-shelf, platform, and held or hung around the neck.

MFT1731 On-Site option is available complete with PowerSuite® Lite software. MFT1731 On-Site provides a professional solution to certification with electronic form completion from stored data within the MFT. Download to a mobile device such as a Smartphone or direct to a PC.

Software Package - Basic FormFiller Certification

Operators can access and download for free the software package from Megger via the web site. Offering users a quick and simple solution to create and store standard IET certification forms and PAT certificates. Suitable for use on Windows® platforms running JAVA 8. FormFiller provides a simple, intuitive form completion tool, allowing professional printed certificates and documentation to be produced with negligible software skills. All certificates and forms can be stored within the application or exported in PDF form.

The MFT1731 can perform a wide range of tests, including:

• Continuity resistance testing at 200 mA or 15 mA - checks the continuity of all protective conductors (earthing conductors, protective bonding conductors, and circuit protective conductors) in an electrical installation.
• Insulation testing - Insulation test at 100 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V Including input protection against live circuits up to 600 V even when insulation test is locked-on
• Residual current device (RCD) testing - checks the operation of RCDs, which are devices that automatically disconnect the power supply to an electrical installation in the event of a fault that could cause an electric shock.
• Earth electrode resistance testing - checks the resistance of the earth electrode, which is a metal rod or plate that is buried in the ground to provide a low-resistance path to earth for fault currents.
• Automatic test sequence - can be used to perform all of the necessary tests on an electrical installation quickly and easily. This is a convenient feature for electricians who are conducting routine testing.
• Resistance range up to 100 kΩ with fast continuity buzzer at selectable thresholds
